Open Access Policy

The International Journal of Counseling and Applied Psychology (IJCAP) provides immediate open access to its content, guided by the principle that making research freely available promotes a greater exchange of global knowledge. In alignment with the Budapest Open Access Initiative, IJCAP allows unrestricted reading, downloading, copying, distributing, printing, searching, and linking of the full texts of published articles, as well as the use of these materials for any lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers. Authors retain full copyright and publishing rights without restrictions.


Editorial and Review Process

The International Journal of Counseling and Applied Psychology (IJCAP) only accepts manuscripts that are original, well-prepared, and not published elsewhere (except in certain cases such as preprints). Detailed manuscript format and requirements are provided on the journal’s website. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by expert reviewers to ensure quality, originality, and relevance. Manuscripts are edited for clarity, structural consistency, and academic rigor before publication.


Publication Frequency and History

The journal was first published in 2025 using Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.5 and publishes two issues annually (October and April), featuring high-quality contributions from scholars worldwide.


Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Journal of Counseling and Applied Psychology (IJCAP) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and is committed to maintaining integrity in all stages of the publication process. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of Editors

  • Ensure fair and unbiased evaluation of submitted manuscripts.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest with authors, reviewers, or institutions.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of reviewed manuscripts.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their judgment.
  • Report any ethical issues such as plagiarism, duplication, or falsification of data.

Duties of Authors

  • Submit original works that have not been published elsewhere.
  • Properly cite and acknowledge all sources of information.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and make underlying data available if requested.
  • Agree to the peer-review process and respond to reviewers’ feedback constructively.

Duties of the Publisher

  • Ensure that editorial decisions are independent from any commercial or political influence.
  • Uphold academic integrity and transparency in all aspects of publication.
  • Support permanent availability and digital preservation of all published content.
  • Provide mechanisms for correction, retraction, and handling of ethical misconduct when necessary.
