Article Processing Charge (APC)

The International Journal of Counseling and Applied Psychology (IJCAP) is committed to providing open access to high-quality research in counseling, educational psychology, and applied psychology. To ensure transparency and fairness in scholarly publishing, the following policy on Article Processing Charges (APCs) is applied:

1. Current APC Policy

  • At present, ICJAP does not charge any submission fees or article processing charges (APCs).
  • Authors are not required to pay for manuscript submission, peer review, editing, publication, or access.
  • All costs of publication, including website maintenance, editorial processes, DOI registration, and long-term archiving, are fully supported by the publisher (DnA Horizon Press).

2. Future APC Policy

  • If APCs are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated transparently, and authors will be notified before submission.
  • Any potential APCs will be clearly stated on the journal’s official website, with details regarding:
    • Payment amount (in USD).
    • Payment procedure.
    • Waiver and discount policy.

3. Waiver Policy (If APC is Applied in the Future)

Should APCs be implemented, the journal will ensure fair and inclusive access by offering:

  • Automatic waivers for authors from low-income countries (based on World Bank classification).
  • Partial waivers or discounts for early-career researchers, students, and unfunded projects.
  • Full waiver requests considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval by the editorial board.

4. Commitment to Open Access

  • All articles published in IJCAP are freely accessible immediately upon publication, in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
  • No hidden charges or subscription fees are applied for readers, libraries, or institutions.
  • Authors retain copyright under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) License.
