The International Journal of Counseling and Applied Psychology (IJCAP) upholds the principle that authors retain full rights over their scholarly work. We are committed to transparency, protection of author rights, and adherence to international open-access best practices.

1. Copyright Retention

Authors retain the full copyright to their articles upon publication in IJCAP. This includes:

  • Exclusive moral rights as the original creators.
  • The right to reuse, reproduce, and distribute their work without restrictions.
  • The ability to enter into additional contractual agreements for non-exclusive distribution (e.g., institutional repositories, personal websites, academic networks, or future book publications), provided that the original publication in IJCAP is acknowledged.

2. Grant of Publishing Rights

By submitting and publishing in IJCAP, authors agree to grant the journal the right of first publication. This enables the article to be made publicly available and disseminated under the terms outlined in this policy.

3. Open Access License

All articles in IJCAP are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under this license:

  • Others may share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) for any purpose, including commercial use.
  • Appropriate credit must be given to the author(s) and the original publication in IJCAP.

4. Preprint and Postprint Policy

ICJAP allows and encourages authors to:

  • Post their work online prior to submission (preprints) in institutional repositories, preprint servers, or personal websites.
  • Deposit the accepted manuscript or final published version (postprints) in repositories immediately upon publication.

These practices facilitate early dissemination, collaborative engagement, and increased citation impact.

5. Acknowledgment of Original Publication

In all subsequent uses or reproductions of the work, authors must ensure that the original publication in IJCAP is cited as follows:
