Archiving Policy
The Journal of Educational Innovation and Research (JEIR), published by DnA Horizon Press, is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of all its published content. We implement multiple archiving and preservation strategies in accordance with international publishing standards and best practices to safeguard the scholarly record.
1. Digital Archiving Services
JEIR preserves its published content through multiple recognized archiving services:
· Indonesia OneSearch (IOS) – National library-based indexing and archiving system managed by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.
· GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) – A national digital reference database and preservation service from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.
· Internet Archive via Internet Archive Scholar – A global initiative providing permanent public access to scholarly works.
· PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) – Ensures global, distributed preservation of the journal content and guarantees perpetual access in case the journal website becomes unavailable.
2. DOI Registration and Metadata Preservation
Each published article in JEIR is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via Crossref, ensuring persistent identification and retrievability even if the primary website is inaccessible. Article metadata and full-text links are stored in Crossref’s database and can be harvested using the OAI-PMH protocol, ensuring interoperability with multiple indexing and preservation systems.
3. LOCKSS and CLOCKSS Participation (if applicable)
JEIR supports LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) initiatives, enabling participating libraries to create permanent archives for preservation and restoration purposes.
4. Purpose of Archiving
The aim of our archiving policy is to guarantee that all published materials remain accessible to researchers, scholars, and the public in the event of technical failures, service disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances. Archived versions act as alternative access points to ensure the continuity of academic reference and citation.
5. Author Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are allowed and encouraged to deposit all versions of their work in institutional or subject repositories without embargo, including:
· Submitted version (preprint)
· Accepted version (postprint)
· Version of record (published PDF)
Recommended repositories include arXiv, bioRxiv, Figshare, Zenodo, and institutional repositories.
6. Storage and File Formats
JEIR maintains an exact digital copy of each published article in secure facilities:
· Primary file formats: XML and PDF.
· Storage infrastructure:
o Primary Server – Hosts content for public access.
o Backup Server – Holds identical copies and can be activated within 24–72 hours in case of server failure.
7. Long-Term Preservation Commitment
JEIR is committed to maintaining access to all published content for the long term. In the unlikely event of the journal ceasing publication, all content will remain accessible online for at least 10 years after the final issue.
8. Open Access to Archives
All archived content is available to the public free of charge, in accordance with JEIR’s Open Access Policy. There are no subscription or access fees for archived materials.
